New Year's Day
New Year's Day is a Japanese tradition. We celeblate beginning of the year, and we hope for happiness in that year. We have many things to do on New Year's day. First, we eat "Osechi" and "Ozoni".Osechi is food in the box. Osechi has many meanings. It means to bring happiness.Ozoni is a rice cake and vagetables in soup. Next,we pay a visit to a shrine. We draw a fortune slip there. Then we play with toys. Toys are tops, battledore, cardgame, kite, and so on. Finally we have a "Otoshidama".Otoshidama is money from our parents and relatives.
