A Different Bridal Custom

I found some strange American culture. It is about bridal customs and I heard this story from my RA. The strange culture is that the bride takes off her garter when she gets married. And that she does not take it off herself, her husband takes it off! This ceremony began long ago. Why does the bride take off her garter? It has meaning, it is the symbol if the woman wears a garter, she is single. This ceremony isn't held in Japan. So I was very surprised. It is very interesting, but most Japanese think it is strange. The most interesting thing is that this ceremony is very cute! So the atmosphere makes them fun. I feel this ceremony is not only strange, but also fun and interesting! And I found another different bridal culture. It is kissing on the mouth at the wedding ceremony! We don't kiss on the mouth, we kiss on the forehead. This was a surprised for me!
