When Americans are Silent

Americans feel uncomfortable when they are quiet though they are with friends.
First of all, I heard that when I was taking American study. And I asked the Missy, the RA, whether quiet is good or not for Americans. And then, she answered it is not good and also feels displesure. They dislike silence when they are with friends.

However, I can not come up with topics every day, and when I feel tired, it it is hard to continue to talk. Besides, Japanese do not feel uncomfortable when they are silent because sometimes they just enjoy being with their friends.

That is why it is a cultural difference.
