People in America and Japanese surely eat marshmallows, but there is a big difference between the ways that people in each country eat them. I found that during my home stay. First, my host father built a fire in the yard. I wondered what the fire was for. Second, he brought marshmallows and skewered them. The fire was very hot, so my cheeks turned red. Third, he burned the marshmallow till it became brown. When the marshmallow began to melt and become brown, he took it from the fire and sandwiched it between chocolate and two crackers. When I ate it, I was very moved because it was fabulous! I said to my host family "What a marvelous sweet! I have never eaten this delicious marshmallow dessert before." Although it was too sweet, I ate all quickly. In Japan, we eat them without cooking them. My host family said, "It is traditional in America. We often eat like this." It was very interesting. I wish I could eat marshmallow like this in Japan!
