I'm really enjoying the life in here. I got precious memories in the U. S. I could meet many
Americans, such as teachers, RAs and my host family. I think my speaking skill has improved.
I'm very glad to make a lot of friends, because if I were in Japan, I could not know people in the
different classes. I could have a confidence to speak in English, and I could feel the preciousness
of my family. I realized that I love Japanese food. I exchanged letters with students in Spokane.
The elementary school student's letter was so cute. I also had a pen pal in high school, and she
studies Japanese in high school. I was impressed by the fluency of her Japanese, and I was
happy to get to know her. I went to the elementary school to read a book for 1st grader girl. She
listened to my story intently, and she also read a book for me. It was so sweet. I met American
university students at Gonzaga university. There were some Japanese students in the class. I
talked with Japanese, Korean and Saudi Arabian students. We talked about the books I read. I
thought their books seemed more difficult than ours. When I went shopping, I noticed American
clerk always talked to me in a friendly way. At first, I didn’t know what to answer them and I
was confused, but now I can enjoy talking with them. My life has changed a lot!
