American and Japanese Values
Say My Opinion

I think that American values and Japanese values are very different . Since I have come to America, I have noticed some differences. Many Americans say their opinion directly, but many Japanese don't say their opinion very much. In American classes, teachers ask us our thinking. As for Japanese classes, teachers don't ask us our thinking very much.

It is very important for Americans to say their opinions. In addition, American people want to know everyone's opinions. On the other hand, it is very important for Japanese to be modest, and many Japanese don't try to say their opinions but just listen because almost all Japanese think it's necessary to become cooperative, so they try to suit everyone. As for me, I didn't say my opinion in Japan because I thought becoming cooperative was important. However, I try to say my opinion now because I am in America now!

I think that America has a lot of good values. Also Japan has a lot of good values. It is very interesting for me to find different values. It is very interesting for me to find different values from Japanese ones. I think that it's very necessary for everyone to understand different cultures because we can understand people who live in different countries. I want to find a lot of different values in America.
