Cultural Surprise

I think many American have a lot of their family's or lover's pictures. First, I've seen such a scene in many places. For example, in my class, there are many of my teacher's family pictures. They look very happy and fun. The pictures show us their happiness. My RA's room has a lot of pictures too. She put a lot of her boyfriend's pictures on the wall. Almost all Japanese are too shy to do such things . When I went to homestay, I was so surprised, because there are many pictures everywhere in their house. I think Americans like taking pictures more than Japanese. Second, Americans love their families or lovers deeply. Of course, Japanese love their family or lover deeply too, but we always don't have the pictures of family or lover, because Japanese are more shy than Americans. I feel a little ashamed of having a picture of my family. But I definitely love my family. I love my family very much! However I don't want to have the picture of my family all the time. I think I need to have the picture of my family only when I leave my home for a long time, like now. Finally, having pictures is a very important thing! If I have a lot of pictures of my family, people understand that I love my family. The picture can show value of family, so I'll try to have the picture of my family. Therefore having pictures is an important thing!
